* P. L. Bhatnagar Prize for 2010 to Indian Team at 51st IMO.

The 51st International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) was held during July 02–14, 2010 at Astana, Kazakhstan. The Indian team secured the 36th position among 97 countries, Two Silver medals, One Bronze medal and Three Honourable Mention. Gaurav D Patil (Pune ; 9423562627, Email: gaurav231992@gmail.com) was the top scorer from the Indian Team with 25 points. He will be awarded the P.L. Bhatnagar Memorial Prize (carrying a Certificate and a cash award of Rs.1000/-) of the Indian Mathematical Society. The award will be presented to him at the Inaugural Session of the ensuing 76th Annual Conference of the Society on December 27, 2010 at the Saradar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat.

The 52nd International Mathematical Olympiad will be held in Netherlands from July 16 – 24, 2011.

* Narasingrao Memorial Prize by IMS .

K. R. Vasuki (Department of Mathematics, Mysore University, Mysore, Karnataka) is the IMS Narasingrao Prize awardee for the best research paper published in the J. Indian Math. Soc. / The Mathematics Student for the year 2008. The Prize will be awarded to her in the Inaugural Session of the ensuing 76th Annual Conference of the Society on December 27, 2010 at the Saradar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat. * ISCA Annual Session 2011 .

The 98th Session of the Indian Science Congress Association will be held at the SRM University, Chennai. The Focal Theme of the Session is “ Quality Education and Excellence in Science Research in Indian Universities ”. Prof. K.C.
